Mediation, one of the alternative dispute resolution methods, is a negotiation process based on the principles of confidentiality, equality and voluntariness, carried out by an independent and impartial third party, namely the mediator, in order to resolve disputes between the parties outside of litigation and to reach an agreement between the parties.

A mediator is an impartial and independent person who brings together the parties in dispute, establishes the communication process in order to ensure that they understand each other and thus produce their own solutions, offers solution suggestions when necessary, and uses the techniques in which he/she has received specialized training for this purpose.

Mediation is a voluntary process. During mediation meetings, the information and documents presented to each other by the parties and the solution proposals for the process must be kept confidential. Unless otherwise agreed, the parties pay the mediation fee equally. If the subject matter of the dispute can be measured in money and an agreement is reached, the parties pay a fee of 6%. According to the fee schedule, this rate gradually decreases as the amount in dispute increases.
